THE RUSSIAN ARMY The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation include Strategic Rocket Forces, Ground Forces, Airborne Forces, Aerospace Forces, and the Navy. Russia also has a variety of paramilitary forces numbering almost half a million that can be used for operations within the borders of the Russian Federation, and occasionally outside its borders.
